The home of Thomas Jefferson, Monticello is owned and operated by the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, a private, nonprofit corporation with a dual mission of preservation and education. Pets are allowed on the grounds of Monticello, if leashed. Pets are not allowed in any buildings, including the House, or on the shuttle buses.
