Led by Kevin C. Fitzpatrick, president of the Dorothy Parker Society, the Dorothy Parker Society Walking Tours are open to the public. Dorothy Parker’s Upper West Side begins at Riverside Drive and West 72nd Street, at the statue of Eleanor Roosevelt. The Parker walking tour (20 blocks) takes in Riverside Park, Broadway, literary landmarks and architectural highlights. The Algonquin Round Table Walking Tour begins and ends at the landmark Algonquin Hotel, 59 West 44th Street. The tour encompasses the Theatre District, Rockefeller Center, Times Square and Hell’s Kitchen. Guests will see the former homes, haunts and hangouts of the Vicious Circle of the 1920s. Dogs are welcome on the walking tours but they cannot be brought into the Algonquin Hotel lobby, no matter how small or well behaved they are.
