Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area straddles the border between Wyoming and Montana and provides unobstructed views of the canyon, surrounding mesas, mountain vistas, and distant scenic features. The park is separated into two districts which are not directly connected. Driving time between the districts is approximately three hours. Pets on a leash are allowed in developed areas and in areas of concentrated public use. Dogs are not allowed in the backcountry except when being used in support of hunting activity, and are not allowed in the swim beach.
