Located at 5001 Siege Rd., Petersburg, VA 23803, Petersburg National Battlefield preserves sites related to the American Civil War Siege of Petersburg (1864–65). The park has miles of nature trails available for dogs and owners. Pets on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed in the park, but are prohibited from the following areas: any public building; Poplar Grove National Cemetery (within the brick walls); and climbing ontop of earthworks or forts.
